Adele Gamble, a former pupil of Banbridge Academy graduated with a 1st class MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering this year.  In addition she scooped a number of prestigious prizes awarded at a special ceremony held in our School on Graduation Day.

The first of these was  the  Frost-Smith Memorial Prize for achieving the best overall performance in the graduating MEng class

Adele also won two industrially funded prizes.  The IceMOS Technology prize was awarded for her outstanding project work in the field of advanced Nanoelectronics.  Her project  focused on the growth of ultra-thin gate oxide layers down to 10nm in thickness for high performance CMOS integrated circuits. The project was supervised by Dr. Neil Mitchell and has yielded key information that will be valuable in the nanotechnology research programme at Queen’s.

The William L. Everitt Award of Excellence honoured outstanding academic achievement coupled with professional interests and activities.
