Nanotechnology

NanotecNI is a £7,000,000 collaborative contract involving the School’s Semiconductor Research Centre (NISRC) with partners from the schools of Physics and Chemistry, and the University of Ulster.

Research will see the creation of

sub 100nm MOS Transistors

High k dielectrics

Metal gate electrodes

Strained silicon on insulator MOSFETS

Strained germanium on insulator MOSFETS

Double gate MOS Transistors

GPSOI substrates

Resonant Tunnelling diodes

MEMS

 

Collaboration will yield system on a chip to include

NanoCMOS circuits with

Photonic devices and optical switching

Nano magnetic

Molecular electronics

Integrated sensors
